Rory O’Doherty
Rory is a Masters graduate from University College Cork and a Fellow Chartered Accountant with over 20 years’ experience in finance and consulting. Rory trained in a ‘big 4’ practice, working in various service lines including Assurance, Risk and Transaction Advisory.
He is principal of O’Doherty Advisory and his areas of expertise include business & commercial strategy, funding advice (debt & capital) and deal negotiation. In the past Rory has worked with listed companies in the areas of risk management, reporting to boards on process improvements. He spent a number of years in corporate finance and restructuring working with banks and borrowers on debt and capital resolution. In recent times he has provided strategic advisory services to a range of Irish SME clients where he has focused on growth strategies and fast track value creation.
Rory is also an active board member in a number of Irish companies focusing on the capital agenda, risk management and investment strategies.
Tim Smyth
Tim is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Director in O’Doherty Advisory. He leads the Corporate and Transaction Advisory Services teams. Tim focuses on solving client’s most pressing challenges by helping business owners, managers and stakeholders develop and implement strategies to enable the improvement of business performance. He has held senior financial positions, working with businesses in Ireland, France, Germany, Spain and the UK.
Tim has experience across multiple industry sectors including hospitality, property development & construction, automotive and retail. Tim’s areas of expertise include business improvement, financial management, working capital and cashflow management, risk transformation, data analytics, lead advisory and funding advice.
Katrina Kot
Katrina is a Business graduate from University College Limerick and a Chartered Accountant with over 6 years’ experience in finance and consulting. She leads the Business Support and Financial Advisory teams in O’Doherty Advisory. Katrina trained in a ‘big 4’ practice in audit & assurance before going on to work with large corporations in finance & accounting.
As Senior Manager in O’Doherty Advisory, Katrina works with clients supporting finance and accounting operating models and improving efficiencies. Her teams focus on corporate reporting & managed finance services which ultimately allows business stakeholders to focus on driving growth and the strategic agenda.
Laura Coulter
Laura compliments the team as Office Manager ensuring smooth operation of our day-to-day business activities. With a keen eye for detail and exceptional organizational skills, she oversees administrative functions, coordinates office resources, and supports the team in finance and accounting.
